About the job:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the world’s main oil exporting country. It has the largest and most diversified economy in the Middle East with industrial exports that are internationally oriented. The Kingdom, therefore, has to have efficient, fully equipped ports that are capable of doing the job as it should be done.
As a Port Manager, your job is to control the flow of transport in and out of the Seaport for an annual volume of containers. You must also liaise with carriers, stevedoring companies and customs clearance brokers to ensure a smooth, problem-free operation.
Some of the activities you are in charge of involve loading and unloading ships, profit and loss management, operations efficiency, cargo storage and verifying that the port complies with regulations.

The path to Port Management starts with a Bachelor's Degree in one of these fields:
- Transportation administration
- Maritime or port management
- Business administration
- Transportation and logistics management
Typically, employees new to terminal or port management work in a specific area of a port before moving up into port management.
