What you do

As a Front-End Engineer, you work on websites and apps. Your job is to make sure that these websites and apps are user-friendly. You analyze the design and functionality to find ways in which both can be improved. You also identify problems with a website or app and come up with effective solutions.

The tough stuff

As a Front End Engineer, you will have to:

  • Meet all your deadlines, which can be very tight
  • Make sure there are no visual or technical issues
The cool stuff

As a Front End Engineer, you will get to:

  • Contribute to the development of a live website or app, and see it come together
  • Collaborate with different people
  • Possibly use your skill-set for doing other jobs, like web design
Typical work hours
  • 40-50 hours per week
  • 15-25% nights & weekends

As a front-end developer, you may work overtime during evenings and weekends; especially when there are deadlines to meet.

Biography

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Interactive Multimedia, Corine Bitar joined Keeward in Beirut as a Front-End Engineer responsible for making websites look great to their visitors.
