What you do

An Aircraft Mechanic performs inspections, makes repairs, and performs scheduled maintenance of aircraft. You have the ability to diagnose both electrical and mechanical problems and identify repair procedures. You examine parts for defects and replace them with new ones.

Education stuff:

Education required

A college degree isn't required for this occupation, although most aircraft mechanics obtain at least 18 months of training from an educational program accredited by the FAA. Associate and Bachelor's degree programs are available in disciplines related to aviation technology and management.
