What you do

As a Sociologist, you study human behavior by observing and compiling data on the way people interact together. Your research helps a lot of different groups to make decisions. You may choose to focus on topics such as Crime, Education, Racial and Ethnic Relations, Poverty and more.

Education stuff:

Education required
  • To become a Sociologist, you need a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, such as Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Economics or Political Science
  • Taking a few classes in Mathematics and Statistics is also a plus 
  • You will need a Master’s (1-3 years) or a Doctoral degree (4-5 years) to become a University Sociologist or to conduct Independent research
