About the job:
As a Film Editor, you are part of a process called Post-Production, where you correct the flaws of a film, and make sure the Director's vision of a movie is presented properly. You use Editing softwares to manipulate a film's elements, which includes the Storyline, Audio and Imagery.
As a Film Editor, you may have to:
- Re-work a lot on your editing- You should have the perseverance to deal with it and ensure a great result
- Deal with a lot of pressure coming from the Director
As a Film Editor, you will get to:
- Practice your creativity when working with different genres of films such as Comedy and Action
- Feel accomplished once you finally deliver the Film
- 40+ hours per week

A film editor has the heart of an artist and the mind of a computer expert. Film editors take enormous amounts of raw film footage and decide how it will ultimately be connected.
In this nooreed interview, Maria Malek tells us what to expect, and how to persevere in this field.
Biography
Born and raised in Beirut, Maria is a passionate Yogi and film editor. She studied Audiovisuel at Université Saint Joseph in Lebanon, where she quickly took interest in the process of post-production.
In the beginning of her career, she worked at VTR Beirut, one of the most renowned post-production companies in the MENA, for 4 years, before deciding to work on a freelance-basis.
She edited 4 short films, 2 feature films, 2 documentaries and more than 300 TV commercials so far.
